Lower Back Strain

A lower back strain happens when the muscles or tendons in your lower back get overstretched and irritated. This can happen when you lift something the wrong way, bending over repeatedly, poor posture, or suddenly moving too fast when moving. Signs of a strain include soreness, stiffness, tight muscles, or sharp pain when you bend or twist. If your core is weak or your hips are tight, your lower back has to make up for the loss of stability, making it more likely to get strained.

Let’s learn how to keep your back happy!

Think of your body like a duo: your hips and your core is the support for your back. When you keep your hips mobile and core strong, your back won’t have to do the extra work. Learning a proper hip hinge and using good posture helps you move smarter, not harder. Starting light when exercising and slowly increasing the weight is a great way to prevent this. Simple, fun moves such as the cat-cow, dead bugs, and the world’s greatest stretch, and bodyweight RDLs can allow you to move better and feel stronger, so your lower back stays healthy and pain-free!
